Fresh cruciferous blend with ginger and lemon for natural cleansing

# What You Need:

→ Vegetables

01 - 1 cup green cabbage, chopped
02 - 1 cup kale leaves, stems removed, chopped
03 - 1 small cucumber, peeled and chopped
04 - 1 stalk celery, chopped

→ Fruit

05 - 1 green apple, cored and chopped
06 - Juice of 1 lemon

→ Flavorings

07 - 1 inch piece fresh ginger, peeled
08 - 1/2 cup cold water, optional for blending

# Directions:

01 - Wash all produce thoroughly under running water. Pat dry with clean kitchen towels.
02 - Chop cabbage and kale into manageable pieces. Peel and chop cucumber, celery, and green apple. Remove core from apple. Peel ginger and cut into 1-inch pieces. Juice fresh lemon.
03 - Feed cabbage, kale, cucumber, celery, apple, ginger, and lemon juice through a cold-press juicer according to manufacturer instructions. Stir thoroughly before serving.
04 - Combine cabbage, kale, cucumber, celery, apple, ginger, lemon juice, and water in a high-powered blender. Blend until completely smooth, approximately 1-2 minutes.
05 - Pour blended mixture through fine mesh sieve or nut milk bag to remove pulp if desired. Transfer to serving glasses filled with ice cubes. Serve immediately.

# Top Tips:

01 -
  • You'll actually taste something alive and real instead of sweet fruit juice trying too hard.
  • Ten minutes from sink to glass means no excuses about being too busy.
  • The ginger sneaks up on you in the best way, clearing your sinuses while tasting nothing like medicine.
02 -
  • If your juice tastes aggressively bitter, you've either used too much kale or let it sit too long—next time use less kale or drink faster.
  • The ginger-to-lemon ratio is personal and changes with your mood, so start timid and adjust once you know what you actually want.
03 -
  • Chill your glasses in the freezer for five minutes before pouring—the cold makes the first sip hit completely different, like tasting it for the first time again.
  • Save the ginger piece and freeze it for later juicing, which sounds weird until you realize how much money that habit saves.
