BBQ Corn Foil Herb Butter (Printable)

Sweet corn grilled in foil with fragrant herb butter creates a flavorful summer side.

# What You Need:

→ Corn

01 - 4 ears fresh corn, husked

→ Herb Butter

02 - 6 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
03 - 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, finely chopped
04 - 1 tablespoon fresh chives, finely chopped
05 - 1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves
06 - 1 garlic clove, minced
07 - ½ teaspoon kosher salt
08 - ¼ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

→ Optional Garnishes

09 - 1 tablespoon grated Parmesan cheese
10 - Lime wedges, to serve

# Directions:

01 - Preheat grill to medium-high heat, approximately 400°F.
02 - Combine softened butter, parsley, chives, thyme, garlic, salt, and black pepper in small bowl. Mix until well blended.
03 - Place each ear of corn on heavy-duty aluminum foil sheet. Spread 1½ tablespoons herb butter evenly over each ear.
04 - Wrap corn tightly in foil, sealing ends well to prevent steam escape.
05 - Place foil-wrapped corn on grill, cover, and cook for 18 to 20 minutes, turning occasionally, until corn is tender with light charring.
06 - Remove from grill and rest for one minute. Unwrap carefully and garnish with Parmesan cheese and lime juice if desired.

# Top Tips:

01 -
  • The herb butter melts right into the corn, creating pockets of garlic and fresh herb flavor that make even mediocre corn taste incredible.
  • Wrapped in foil means you can prep everything ahead and just throw it on the grill while you handle the main event.
  • It's naturally vegetarian and gluten-free, so it actually works for everyone at the table instead of being an afterthought.
02 -
  • Heavy-duty foil is worth buying separately—regular foil tears too easily and lets all your butter escape into the grill, which is heartbreaking after you've done everything else right.
  • Don't skip turning the packets during cooking, because the side touching the grill grate directly will char faster, and you want even, gentle cooking throughout.
03 -
  • If you're cooking for someone with dairy allergies, plant-based butter works beautifully and honestly tastes nearly identical once it's mixed with all those fresh herbs.
  • Make extra herb butter and keep it in the fridge—it melts beautifully over grilled vegetables, bread, or even a simple grilled chicken breast the next time you need something fast and impressive.
